Same issue here. I continuously have random crashes/ disconnects. This reminds me of cold war, when I had this problem too, till CCP did something and everything was 100% fine again for me. All that I can suggest is to send a mail to customer support. The extra information or extra cases could make this easier or a priority to fix. I hope this gets fixed very quickly, because as it stands now I am not able to do 80% of the missions or any pvp combat. Basically the game is unplayable.

I suggest you make contact with customer support at the moment I am using ping plotter to see if the problem lies with level 3 in London.
Today has so far also been a very good day for me. I've been able to idle quite long, do missions, fly around etc. I only crashed once and that was when I was going trough the exact same router as I did yesterday, when I received a packet loss and disconnected.
With just only 1 crash today there isnÆt much data from me to draw a conclusion on. So if people like you would send the data to CCP you get from ping plotter I would assume things could be solved a lot faster.
Everything that needs to be done is explained by customer support and every time IÆve updated my issue, IÆve been given a reply back very quickly.

1.I'll copy paste some of the replies I got, here's what I 1st did:
In order to solve this problem we will need some information about your computer.
1. Please run the DirectX diagnostics tool: Press 'Start' and select 'run'. Type dxdiag and hit enter. When you do this, a window will pop up. 2. Click the "Save All Information" button that's located in its lower right corner. 3. Then attach the file to the e-mail and send us.
Best regards, The EVE Online Customer Support Team
2. Then: In order to thoroughly test your connection to the EVE server then I recommend that you download a program called pingplotter which is available here <www.pingplotter.com>. If you are running a hardware firewall (SPI Firewall) on your router you will need to disable it, as otherwise this program won't work. Run ping plotter and set it to trace to 87.237.38.200, this being the EVE server, then set it to run at 1 minute intervals for 60 runs and statistics to include these 60 intervals. After that then try to login to the EVE server with the program running in the background. If your connection drops while running the pingplotter program then check if you get any packet loss or unusually high ping times at any node along the way. Save the results and send to us.
Best regards, The EVE Online Customer Support Team
3. After my first results:
We've heard that the Level3 provider has caused some stability issues for some players, could you please keep pingplotter running while you are playing and when you crash/disconnect check the trace to see if you are always receiving packet losses at Level3.
If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us again. We'll do all we can to help.
Best regards, The EVE Online Customer Support Team
Then I send the stuff I got today, but as I said before, I only crashed once. The rest of the day eve was running supperb and I haven't changed a thing on my side.

Boooohoooohoooo This week-end I gamed again, idled for an hour, did a mission, some PvP, lots of traveling and 2 times a clone jump and everything was fine.
Today I am disconnecting again... it just does not make any sense anymore.

Kept it running the entire evening.
Hop Host Name / [IP] 1 [195.190.249.17] 2 iawxsrt-dc2-bb21a.wxs.nl [213.75.1.209] 3 dcr2-so-1-1-0.amsterdamamx.savvis.net [208.174.49.65] 4 dcr1-so-5-0-0.amsterdamamx.savvis.net [204.70.194.81] 5 acr1-so-0-0-0.Amsterdamamx.savvis.net [204.70.193.145] 6 so-4-2.core1.Amsterdam1.Level3.net [208.174.49.2] 7 so-4-0-0.mp1.Amsterdam1.Level3.net [4.68.113.74] 8 ae-1-0.bbr1.London1.Level3.net [212.187.128.58] 9 ae-0-55.gar1.London1.Level3.net [4.68.116.139] 10 [195.50.91.22] 11 [87.237.38.199] 12 [87.237.38.200]
9 Switches contineously between:
9 ae-0-53.gar1.London1.Level3.net [4.68.116.75], this one had the most packetloss, though only 1.58% occured. 9 ae-0-51.gar1.London1.Level3.net [4.68.116.11], only 1 error, packet loss of 0.1%
Last week I recorded one crash when it swicthed to 4.68.116.11. 11 errors and 31% packet loss.
Seems that london1.level3. isn't causing a crash for you, which would mean something else is responsible for the crashes. I checked all of my stable sessions again and the route when stable is as follows: Hop Host Name / [IP] 1 [195.190.249.17] 2 iawxsrt-dc2-bb21a.wxs.nl [213.75.1.209] 3 so-7-0-0.nar1.AMS1.gblx.net [146.82.33.177] 4 ge-6-17.car1.Amsterdam1.Level3.net [213.244.165.237] 5 ge-2-0-0.mp1.Amsterdam1.Level3.net [4.68.125.201] 6 ae-1-0.bbr1.London1.Level3.net [212.187.128.58] 7 ae-0-53.gar1.London1.Level3.net [4.68.116.75] 8 [195.50.91.22] 9 [87.237.38.199] 10 [87.237.38.200]
So not a single crash happened when I had the 10 jump route and crashes do occur with the 12 jump route. This is only speculation, some info from other players could be usefull.

Edited by: Mather Maelstrom on 30/05/2006 16:55:47 So the speed is about the same. With I think the long route on average a bit faster. Indeed is either completely the 10 jump route or the 12 jump route, does not change while connected.

Doesn't really link the two of us I doubt I will do this much longer been playing for 9 days again since my injury and 7 of the 9 have been unplayable. Patience is a virtue, but I can see myself losing a virtue soonÖ.

Edited by: Mather Maelstrom on 31/05/2006 15:53:38 The problem however seems that nothing is linking us, none of us is going over the same route and we all have disconnects which makes it more logical to assume the problem lies with CCP.
For all I know the one reason to have that 1 stable week-end could also be because the eve cluster crashed before that.
Those problems have, for most of us, started after the very last tranquility cluster 'upgrade'. I also asked in local yesterday if people were disconnecting/ crashing from the few that read local some replied they had the same problems. One would do so each 30 minutes the other each every hour orso. It's to bad the problem is so widespread, but only a few report about it.
I remember cold war and everone saying it was my problem till one day it effected everyone and CCP did something about it.

Got a reply yesterday evening from customer support nothing seems to suggest it's the ISP (at least for me). It apparently only affects a few characters, some people here with multiple accounts have some characters working and others not. I'll give my character log in to a RL friend who has no problems currently with his own account, if he disconnects it would mean something has gone wrong with my character.

Still crashing here too, but I've gone to 0.0 now tired of wasting time in empire. If I lose my ship due to a disconnect ccp can reimburse it for me. Anyways I've done some travelling around; hunted NPC's and flew a dominix past 2 gate-camps to find myself quite stable. Following things changed: 1. Out in 0.0 now 2. Running TS all the time when playing eve 3. Got 1 machonet folder from a corp member that I re-use every day. I only disconnected once here in 0.0.

Nevermind my previous post, only the week-end was fine. I just tried to play the game, but was continuously disconnected from the server ISP just fine.

The patch has not fixed the problem at all. Latest idea from customer support is to try and disable my soundcard. I already have sounds=0 in that refs.ini file, so I doubt it will fix anything (especially since before the tranq thing everything was just fine). I believe it has to do with my character/ client, the reason reinstalling the game does not work is because probably the same error gets uploaded to my character everytime I log onto it (server keeps agent/standings/isk/skillpoint etc.).

Edited by: Mather Maelstrom on 07/06/2006 19:53:44 I haven't had any logging in problems, I did read that post however and that post ahs a lot of poeple with disconnection problems just like we have.
So I tried using somebody elses machonet file, however it did not work, I kept crashing.
I also have sometimes a stable session where the game just keeps on going A+ untill I log off. If I would come back 5 minutes after that I could be having contineous disconnects again.... and that just makes 0 sense to me.

Owi do us all a favour and stop posting here. I am probably not the only one who is annoyed by your; "not at all helpful replies here."
So people I've been playing quite stable for the past few days, I did the following:
1. Download latest client patch 2. Delete the eve folder and all files under it 3. Install new client 4. Rearranged all those bm's (again)
Game play has been rather good, with hour long sessions and hardly any disconnects. Nothing else has been changed.

From all my logs nothing seemed to suggest it had to do with packet loss, most plots I have made show no packet loss when disconnecting. I have a new route now through which I now connect to the eve server, but it did not change anything.

Actually only less then half a year left to make it to a full year of horrific server disconnects.
Let's not count the one or two days from time to time that are 100% stable, they only add 10% to 20% of total play time.
CCP look at my history of payments ever since this has been around only 1 months have been purchased with frequent long breaks, if you want me to be buying 3 month non-stop fix the problem PERMANENTLY.
